Marine scientist and educator Dr Jo Henley directs Sciart Solutions. Whether it’s creating interpretation boards at coastal sites, designing educational interactive items, delivering beach based workshops or writing environmental science accessible to a lay audience, SciArt Solutions offer the complete communication package.
Jo designs and delivers educational workshops and resources throughout primary, secondary and tertiary education and has solutions for making most subjects accessible and engaging to the range of target audiences.
We worked alongside Jo back in 2009 on the Dott Eco design challenge, and have been friends ever since, so we were really chuffed to be asked to create Sciart's brand identity and website.
The Venn diagram was used on the homepage to illustrate the close relation between Interpretation, Education and Communication and also incorporated a navigation tool for sea, marine and environment.
With illustration being a big part of Jo's approach to communication, it was really important to incorporate her own icons and sketches.
For Sciart’s printed material we sourced an eco paper stock called ‘Shiro Alga Carta’, which is made from algae, which would otherwise clog up the Venetian Lagoon.
