Web conference Digpen at The Eden Project

Marjolein Posted - March 27th 2013

Digpen organised a one day web conference at The Eden Project on Saturday 23 March which was sponsored by Blackberry and FreeAgent. FreeAgent gave away jelly beans in their brand colours, which looked pretty cool and were very tasty too!

The talks covered a wide range of subjects from all sorts of professionals. One I was specifically interested in was from the developer behind the Moby Dick Big Read website which is powered by WordPress. However, he mentioned that he wouldn’t use WordPress again in the future. All of the talks have been recorded and will be available on Digpen’s website soon. I can strongly recommend keeping an eye out for them.

An intern’s insight

Marjolein Posted - March 27th 2013

After completing a three month internship with Leap I have now moved into a Junior Designer role. I am excited to be continuing my time here, I have not only gained a lot of experience and knowledge but also learnt what working as a designer entails. I have recently completed a Graphic Design degree at Falmouth University and graduated in September 2012. I approached Leap after returning from an internship in London. There work really appealed to me not only aesthetically but also through the values they hold.

Throughout the internship I was part of many processes and tasks within Leap. My confidence grew and as the time went on by the end I felt confident within the design steps of a project. I was able to take responsibility for the projects I worked on demonstrating the faith they put in to all interns. Although unpaid, I felt the benefits far outweighed the negatives. The couple of months you work for free you are able to gain so much in the way of knowledge about how the industry works, new processes, art working and liaising with clients etc. Leap let you get straight in to it and I feel that it was a good step in progressing my skills for a design career.

A nice little review of the Knotty Case iPhone Cover. A branding project we really enjoyed working on and looking forward to expanding in the near future.

Congratulations to our clients winning awards!

Marjolein Posted - November 16th 2012

Tourism businesses across Cornwall were celebrating on Thursday 8 November at the 11th annual Cornwall Tourism Awards 2012, sponsored by St Austell Brewery.

We’re thrilled that our clients are being honored with this recognition, and it’s fun to feel a sense of connection to their success, whether or not we had impact on the actual projects. It’s a real pleasure to see our clients standing out in a highly competitive community of some of the best Tourism businesses across Cornwall.

KeepCup!

Marjolein Posted - November 7th 2012

Why has the paper coffee cup reigned for so long? Probably because there’s never been a serious challenger…

Until now! The KeepCup is lightweight, splash-proof, has thermal qualities and fits most standard coffee machines.
